Agreement to these terms
These terms apply when you access or use LessonBuddy. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use LessonBuddy.
1. The service
LessonBuddy provides mobile tools for driving instructors to manage their business, including scheduling, pupil records, progress, payments, communications, routes and teaching resources. Features may change as the service develops.
2. Accounts
LessonBuddy supports instructor, pupil and parent accounts. You must provide accurate information, keep account credentials secure and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account, except where the law says otherwise.
Instructor users are responsible for ensuring they have the licences, permissions, insurance and professional arrangements needed to provide driving tuition.
3. Trials, subscriptions and payment
- Eligible ADIs may receive 60 days of free access.
- Eligible PDIs may receive up to 6 months of free access while training.
- After free access ends, instructors can choose a monthly or annual subscription offered through the app.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through the relevant app-store or account controls.
- Prices and any applicable taxes are shown before purchase. App-store terms may also apply.
- Pupil and parent access is included with the linked instructor account.
Current website pricing is £9.99 per month or £89.99 per year. We may change pricing for future billing periods after giving any notice required by law or the relevant app store.
4. Pupil payments
Where instructors enable pupil payment features, transactions are processed by third-party payment providers. The instructor remains responsible for lesson prices, refunds, business records, tax and their relationship with the pupil. Processing fees may apply and are shown through the relevant payment flow.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use LessonBuddy unlawfully, fraudulently or to harm another person.
- Upload content you do not have the right to use.
- Harass users or send abusive, misleading or unsolicited communications.
- Attempt to bypass access controls, probe security or disrupt the service.
- Use automated extraction, scraping or resale without written permission.
- Share credentials in a way that gives unauthorised access to personal data.
6. Instructor responsibilities and pupil data
Instructors decide what pupil information they enter and how they use it for their business. Instructors are responsible for having an appropriate lawful basis, giving required privacy information, keeping records accurate and responding to their pupils’ data rights where they act as a data controller.
7. Your content
You retain ownership of the content and business records you submit. You give us permission to host, process, transmit and display that content only as needed to operate, secure and improve LessonBuddy. You confirm you have the rights needed to provide it.
8. LessonBuddy content
LessonBuddy’s software, branding, designs, teaching resources and other original content are protected by intellectual-property law. Your subscription gives you a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep LessonBuddy reliable, but uninterrupted or error-free access cannot be guaranteed. Maintenance, technical incidents, third-party services or events outside our reasonable control may affect availability. We may update, replace or withdraw features where reasonably necessary.
10. Cancellation and termination
You may cancel through the controls provided by the relevant app store or within LessonBuddy where available. Access normally continues until the end of the paid billing period. We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, address non-payment or respond to a serious breach of these terms.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. Subject to that, LessonBuddy is a business-management tool and does not replace your professional judgement, legal duties, financial advice or safe driving practices. We are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate user-entered information, third-party services or use outside the intended purpose of the service.
12. Privacy
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information. It forms part of the information you should read before using LessonBuddy.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to LessonBuddy, our providers or the law. We will provide notice where required. Continued use after an update takes effect means the revised terms apply.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the applicable part of the United Kingdom. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable consumer or business law may hear disputes.
