How to Create and Manage Driving Lessons

LessonBuddy keeps your lesson diary, pupil details and booking status together. You can create one lesson, build a recurring schedule or add several different time slots in one go.

Create a lesson

1. Open Schedule.
2. Tap or drag across an empty time on the calendar, then open Create Lesson.
3. Keep the Lesson tab selected.
4. Choose the pupil in Who and select the lesson type in What.
5. Set the date, start time and duration in When.
6. Add pickup and drop-off details if needed.
7. Turn on Requires student confirmation if you want the pupil to accept the booking.
8. Tap Create lesson.

School owners and admins can use Select Instructor when creating a lesson for a member of their team.

Create recurring or multiple lessons

Use the repeat selector on Create Lesson:

• Single creates one lesson.
• Repeat creates a regular series. Choose the days, weekly or fortnightly frequency, and number of occurrences.
• Multiple lets you add different dates and times in one batch.

LessonBuddy checks for diary clashes before creating the bookings. Review any conflicts carefully and choose whether to skip conflicting times.

Manage confirmations

A lesson that needs approval shows a PENDING badge. Open the lesson and tap Confirm lesson, or open Settings → Unconfirmed Lessons to review outstanding bookings.

Edit a lesson

1. Tap the lesson on Schedule.
2. Tap Edit.
3. Change the pupil, time, lesson type, location or other details.
4. Tap Save changes.

Editing changes that individual lesson. It does not alter every lesson in a recurring series.

Cancel, restore or delete

Open the lesson and choose Cancel. Add an optional reason, select No charge, Partial or Charge full, and decide whether to notify the pupil before tapping Confirm cancellation.

A cancelled lesson can be opened and Restored. Use Delete only when the booking should be removed; deleting can also refund related lesson charges.

Useful diary tips

• Use pupil availability to avoid unsuitable times.
• Add pickup details before the lesson so they are easy to find.
• Use confirmations for pupil-requested or uncertain bookings.
• External calendar events are view-only in LessonBuddy; edit them in the connected calendar.
• If you are offline, LessonBuddy can queue supported diary changes and send them when the connection returns.
